Inks & Printing
One of the main features of our Eco One Notebooks is the natural textured finish of the covers. This uncoated finish absorbs ink more than silk, so lighter colours on darker materials can appear faded or mottled. To avoid this, we have a couple of techniques to ensure the best outcomes for your notebooks.
Silver/White Ink
Particularly important for the darker colours, we use a light Silver Ink, which doesn't absorb into the material, giving a stronger finish and avoiding a mottled appearance. This will override any artwork settings that are a CMYK white.
Standard White Ink
Printed with standard white ink, the result on darker covers can appear mottled, as the ink absorbs more into the material than our specialist silver ink.
As Per Artwork Colours
If your artwork does not use white or our recommended silver/white ink as its primary colour, we will print using the spot colours in the supplied files. Please note that, due to the nature of the uncoated material, these colours may not appear as an exact colour match.
