The award-winning author-illustrator Neal Layton's publishers were looking for promotional products to publicise his new book in an accessible, child-friendly way.
Neal's book - A World Full of Wildlife: and how you can protect it - is aimed at young people to help them better understand and care for the world around them.
Hachette Children's Book Publishers chose our full colour printed seed packets to support the book's message and celebrate its launch. An environmentally friendly product with full-colour coverage, the branded wildflower seed packets are a great way to share a message and engage your audience.
In the book, Neal explains to children what biodiversity is, why it matters, and how the human race can protect it. To support that valuable message, it was important the children could see the topics they'd learnt about put into action.
The seed gift packets are a tangible way for children to use their learnings from the book: planting seeds and then monitoring and measuring the positive changes they can make to their environment.
The back of the packet also explained to the children how to use and take care of the wildflowers.
Our wildflower seeds are also approved by RHS Plants for Pollinators, meaning they provide excellent nectar plants for insects and revive natural flora and fauna.
At Really Good Branding we have focused on ensuring our seed packets are as eco friendly as possible. Our seed packets are made in the UK using 100% sustainable materials, British Wildflower Seeds and are foil and plastic-free. In addition, all the packaging is biodegradable and suitable for domestic recycling.
This commitment to the environment makes the promotional seed packets an excellent product for the campaign, reinforcing the book's message about protecting the world around us, and educating children about the importance of recycling and the impact of plastics on the environment.
We printed the seed packets using the supplied artwork before adding enough wildflower seeds to cover almost one square metre to each pack. The vibrant print on our retail quality seed packets was a perfect match to the book, which further enhanced the professional look and feel of the product.
At Really Good Branding, our careful sourcing of high-quality seeds makes sure they are reliable growers and only include native British Wildflowers.
To recognise the benefits of promotional seeds and their positive impact on the environment, particularly compared to other promotional merchandise products, we also planted a tree in the UK through our Tree Project initiative on behalf of Neil Clayton and Hachette Children's books.
